Steve O’Sullivan & Reformed Society, Rico Sante – Rhythm Method Vol.6

Pretty ironic given its name, but the Rhythm Method has proved to be a highly fertile series for Steve O’Sullivan’s Mosaic label, what with this being the sixth instalment. On the A-side, O’Sullivan joins forces with Reformed Society for the gorgeously light touch techno workout ‘Distant Voices’, where snippets of voices and tinkling keys pepper what at first appears to be a sparse set foundations but over time reveals itself to be packed with tiny detail. On the B-side we get the dreamier ‘Deep Drifting’ by Rico Sante, where clouds of soft synths blow gently over an understated dub techno groove. Both are great.
