Various – Wiggle For 25 Years

Description

Various – Wiggle For 25 Years // Wiggle – WIGV085

Wiggle marked its 25th anniversary in 2019 with the relaunch of its influential label, bringing together co-founders Terry Francis, Nathan Coles and Eddie Richards alongside artists including D’julz, Silverlining and Mihai Popoviciu. Closely tied to the warehouse parties that helped shape London’s early Tech House scene, Wiggle developed a sound rooted in the tension between Techno’s tougher edge and the depth and groove of House.

Founded by Nathan Coles and Terry Francis in the early 1990s, with Eddie Richards becoming an early resident, Wiggle grew from a series of warehouse parties into a defining part of London’s underground club culture. The parties became known for their strong sense of community, powerful sound systems and a resident-led approach, while also welcoming artists such as Richie Hawtin, Jay Tripwire, Abe Duque and Colin Dale.

The label developed alongside the parties, releasing music from a growing network of producers connected to that evolving sound. Its 25th-anniversary relaunch returned the imprint to vinyl while reconnecting Wiggle’s history with the bass-driven, groove-focused approach that helped establish its identity.
