Adam’s Bite welcomes Tripmastaz for his first appearance on the label with Tortured Soul, a four-track release that moves between stripped-down house rhythms, dub textures, and darker techno-leaning moods.
The release opens with “GFK’s Dream”, a raw excursion through bumpy drums, twitchy resonant synth melodies, and pulsating sub-bass tones alongside dreamy chords and spoken word vocals. “Paranoic Paranormal” follows, reducing things further to crisp, swinging percussion, spiralling dub echoes, and hypnotic textural components to create an immersive, loop-led jam.
“Tortured Soul” shifts toward a more shadowed, techno-centric aesthetic, employing squelchy 303 licks and classic dub-techno stabs with a shuffled rhythm section and murky bass flutters. Closing the release, “Gully Sunday” unfolds over seven and a half minutes of saturated drums, bouncy bass stabs, mesmeric chime melodies, and oscillating synth fills.
With Tortured Soul, Tripmastaz opens a new chapter on Adam’s Bite with a set of finely detailed and functional cuts.
