Stólar label boss Philipp Priebe delivers the inaugural long player on his own imprint: Movements In An Empty Department Store, featuring eight original compositions by the German artist.

The LP is inspired by a child’s dream — spending a night alone in an empty department store. A fantasy shared by many, young and old alike: the freedom to explore, try everything without supervision, snack through the food and sweets section, and enjoy a night without consequences. Whether joyful, feverish, or unsettling, this scenario becomes the setting for a vivid soundtrack told in eight movements.

Across the album, Priebe showcases his ability to craft raw, cinematic, and often mystical deep house. Swelling basslines, dubby echoes, and ethereal textures shape tracks like “Marble,” “Porcelain,” “Drenched In Dust,” and “Fever Dreams.” Meanwhile, more rhythmically driven cuts like the title track, “Cedar,” and “Clouds Floating In A Haze Of Light” offer rugged, percussive energy. The haunting closer “On The Way Out” leaves the listener suspended in a reflective, dreamlike state.
