Refraction celebrates its first anniversary with a special milestone: the label’s debut vinyl release, Lajka EP, a collaboration between founder Pedro Capelossi and Italian producer Francesco Mami.
Crafted in Mami’s studio in Italy, the EP blends deep, dubby, and percussive elements across three original tracks. The title track “Lajka” stands out with distorted chords and an evolving rhythmic drive. “Kota” leans into dub techno with weighty chords and atmosphere, while “Lajkinha” explores groovy deep house with a bass-led focus.
Remixes come from Mathimidori (aka Mathias Kaden), who offers a warm, dub-infused version of “Lajka,” and Brazil’s Chiari, who contributes a driving deep tech rework.
A solid first vinyl release from Refraction, marking a collaborative and sonically rich moment for the label.
