Titans is a solo contemporary classical album in which pianist Mischa Blanos creates an original body of work inspired by the composers who shaped his musical upbringing. Rather than quoting their works directly, Blanos recalls them through fragments of mood, rhythm, scale and motif — impressions that remained after the exact scores of his academic training had faded from memory.

Across the seven pieces, listeners encounter echoes of figures such as Bach, Beethoven, Chopin, Liszt, Debussy, Tchaikovsky, Gershwin, Bartók and Shostakovich. Their musical languages appear and dissolve throughout the album, sometimes within the same composition, creating a playful listening experience where traces of these Western titans surface in shifting combinations.

The album emerged under unusual circumstances. While recording material for his acoustic-electronic solo project, Blanos finished earlier than expected and used the remaining studio time to step away from electronics. What began as a free-flowing piano improvisation gradually turned into a deeper creative state. Memories of the classical repertoire he had studied since the age of seven resurfaced — fragments of harmonies, rhythms and half-forgotten passages — guiding the improvisations that ultimately formed Titans.
