Mike Shannon – Tactile Green EP

Mike Shannon – Tactile Green EP // Cynosure – CYN022

The third and final chapter of Mike’s Tactile Series, Tactile Green, explores the deeper and slightly melancholic side of his Deep Techno and House sound.

Detroit-inspired ‘Devotional’ begins with brushed snares, jazz ride loops and crisp digital atmospheres before gradually introducing layers of warm synths. The track builds patiently before settling into a 909-driven groove, eventually stripping back to its essential synth bass and kick.

‘Quetschkomode’, named after German slang for a street organ, takes a more playful House direction. Inspired by an encounter with a street organ player in Germany, the track centers around an unusual arpeggiated synth line, underpinned by a slick, shuffling groove that unfolds over nine minutes.

With its combination of melancholy, humor and sonic diversity, Tactile Green brings the Tactile Series to a close somewhere between deep late-night grooves and the emotional atmosphere of an early-morning dancefloor.
