Nine Channel returns with its third release and the label’s first on 12″, bringing together producer Grant Dell and Trinidad-born, Bristol-based vocalist and multi-instrumentalist Corysan.

Having first collaborated on the 2018 Hijacked single for Dell’s Legsman imprint, the pair reunite for “Heavy Load”, combining Corysan’s deep roots vocals with Grant Dell’s heavyweight dubwise production. Presented as both a vocal version and a melodica-led instrumental, the release offers a contemporary take on classic Roots and Dub traditions.

On the flip, Nina Walsh—longtime studio partner of the late Andrew Weatherall—contributes a spacious, modern dub reinterpretation. Built around deep bass, dubbed-out rhythms and carefully placed vocal fragments, her remix expands the original while reinforcing its central message of resilience and hope.

Released several years after its creation, Heavy Load remains a timeless statement, equally at home on sound systems, in clubs and beyond.
