Description

Adam Collins – Remembering Swag EP // Swag Records – SWAG020

Attention: This is the EU version of the release. We sell this version exclusively to customers within the European Union.

SWAG was never simply a record label or record shop. Founded in South London in 1993, it became a meeting point for a generation of DJs, producers and record collectors, evolving into a creative hub that connected studios, parties, labels and lifelong friendships. Through figures such as Eddie Richards, Terry Francis, Adam Collins, Gideon Jackson and Grant Dell, SWAG helped shape a distinct corner of underground dance music while fostering a spirit of collaboration and discovery that extended far beyond its walls. Now, with its twentieth release, the label returns to begin a new chapter built around rare archive material, previously unreleased recordings and, above all, new music.

Fittingly, SWAG 020 comes from one of the artists most closely associated with its story: Adam Collins. A key figure in the evolution of tech-house through the late 1990s and early 2000s, Collins helped define a distinctly deep and exploratory approach to club music. Through his solo work, collaborations and the influential Omni A.M. collective, his productions consistently balanced dancefloor functionality with a restless creative spirit, leaving a lasting mark on generations of producers that followed.

Remembering Swag EP comes as a natural point of departure for the label’s relaunch. Across three new productions — “Remembering Swag”, “1-800 Call Adam” and “Electric Acid Test” — Collins revisits the qualities that made both his work and the label so enduring: groove, personality and a willingness to look beyond convention. As both a reflection on SWAG’s legacy and a statement of intent for its future, the EP reconnects the label’s history with the spirit of curiosity and innovation that has defined it from the beginning.
